How it works
A controlled path from application to settlement
Every participant, opportunity and transaction follows the same sequence of verification, review, approval and documented execution.
The nine steps
Application
An applicant registers and selects the account type that matches their role.
Identity and company verification
KYC and KYB checks on individuals, entities and beneficial owners.
Licence and source review
Mining, trading, export and processing authorisations are examined.
Technical and assay validation
Assay methodology, laboratories and geological reporting are reviewed.
Compliance and responsible-sourcing review
Sanctions, PEP, chain-of-custody and human-rights screening.
Opportunity approval
Only an administrator may approve an opportunity for private publication.
Buyer, offtaker and financing-partner matching
Qualified counterparties are introduced under confidentiality.
Deal room, contracting and logistics
Documents, terms, milestones and delivery are managed in a private deal room.
Settlement, reporting and closure
Settlement is recorded, fees are reconciled and the transaction is closed.
Opportunity status workflow
An opportunity moves through these states. Nothing is published automatically and only an administrator may approve a listing.
Transaction milestones
Progress is tracked inside the deal room so every authorized participant sees the same position.
Glossary
Reserves, resources and production
These three terms are frequently confused. MIG records which one a figure represents, together with the reporting standard and the competent person or laboratory responsible.
Mineral resource
A concentration of material of economic interest with reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction. It is an estimate, not a confirmation that mining is viable.
Mineral reserve
The economically mineable part of a measured or indicated resource, demonstrated through a study that includes modifying factors such as mining method, processing, infrastructure, permitting, costs and prices.
Production
The quantity actually mined, processed and sold during a stated period. Production is historical fact; reserves and resources are estimates that change over time.
Why the distinction matters
Resource figures are frequently quoted as though they were reserves, and reserves as though they were revenue. MIG never presents demonstration or unverified figures as confirmed reserves and never publishes a valuation derived by multiplying an estimate by a metal price.
